Prof. Stanimira Milcheva is a professor in Real Estate Finance at UCL. She is the director of the Affordable Housing Centre at UCL and heads the Shared Ownership Data Initative. Stani is also the associate editor of Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management, Journal of Real Estate Research and Journal of Real Estate Practice and Education. Stani was a visiting fellow at the University of Connecticut (2022), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2018-2019) and Baruch College (2018). Stani has acted a scientific committee member of the American Social Sciences Association – American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (2024), University of Cambridge Real Estate Symposium (2023, 2024), the National American Real Estate and Urban Economic Association (2022, 2023) and the European Real Estate Society (ERES) Conference (2023). Stani has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers in leading field academic journals such as the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Energy Economics. Her research has been praised through research and industry awards including best paper awards (RICS , Homer Hoyt Institute , Cushman and Wakefield) and funding awards (Real Estate Research Institute, University of Reading Research Endowment Trust Fund) .
Stani has worked on various funded research and advisory projects for government (Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities) local government, and non-profit providers as well as key stakeholder organisations (CASE, G15, National Housing Federation, Shelter, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, European Public Real Estate Association, etc.).
She is the scientific programme coordinator of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Doctoral Networks for the research programme QuiVal. She is supervisor of the Doctoral Candidates (DCs) DC12.
