Ioanna Mitropoulou

Postdoctoral Researcher

Dr. Ioanna Mitropoulou carried out her doctoral research as an ITA fellow at the chair of Digital Building Technologies (DBT) at the Institute of Technology in Architecture (ITA), ETH Zurich. Her doctoral research focused on developing a digital workflow for the design of non-planar print paths for advanced robotic additive manufacturing processes. She received a Master of Architecture from the National Technical University of Athens in 2017. While pursuing her masters, she carried out Erasmus studies at ENSAPLV Paris la Villette, where she became acquainted with computational design tools. She also studied a year abroad in the FabLab of IAAC, Barcelona, where she completed the Fab Academy educational program, gaining hands-on experience in digital fabrication techniques, and pursued post-graduate studies at ETH Zurich, where she completed the Master of Advanced Studies in Architecture and Digital Fabrication. Her professional experience includes a year of work at ESRI R&D Zurich as part of its Mixed Reality team where she focused on procedural urban design and Virtual Reality for designing and communicating urban scale proposals.
